St Andrew Lodge No 4087 was delighted to welcome a Buddies Visit on Tuesday 14th of February 2023, where they were able to see an initiation ceremony. It was a wonderful evening and all those involved had a great time both in the temple as well as at the festive board.
Alma Mater Lodge No 1492 was delighted to welcome the 6th Buddies Visit on Saturday 21st of May, where they were able to see a double Third ceremony. It was a wonderful evening and all those involved had a great time both in the temple as well as at the festive board.
On Wednesday 4th May, the Cambridgeshire Light Blues were delighted to draw the Chairman’s Raffle Prize winners at the Festive Board of The Lodge of Three Grand Principles 441. The night was an official Buddies Visit which saw 10 New Initiates and Fellowcraft from all over the Province come and see an initiation.
The CLB in association with Alma Mater Lodge No 1492 are happy to announce our 6th Buddies Meeting to take place on Saturday 21st May 2022 at Bateman St, Cambridge at 4.30pm for 5.00pm Opening.
The evening will feature a Double Raising Ceremony in the presence of a Senior member of the Provincial Team.
Calling all Light Blues Members who have been through their 3rd Degree and are now Master Masons, or will be by the 21st of May 2022, are warmly invited to come and experience 1492’s special interpretation of a double Raising Ceremony.

On Friday 28th January, The Cambridgeshire Light Blues Club officially launched the CLB Buddies Programme at Virtute et Fide Lodge (7959) accompanied by the Deputy Provincial Grand Master (photo), and at Stone Cross Lodge (6704) accompanied by the Provincial Grand Master.
The aim of the Buddies Programme is to provide a support network for all New and Young Masons as they join and progress in their Masonic Journeys, by arranging organised visits to other Lodges.
The launch events saw a total of 10 New and Young Masons attend both Lodge meetings and the evenings were a huge success. Both Lodges performed Initiations.
Upon arrival, all the new initiates were greeted by their host and encouraged to introduce themselves. Seating was specially reserved in the Temple along with the visiting Masters, and a warm welcome was extended by the Worshipful Master.
At Virtute et Fide Lodge, one of our new initiates Peter Richards played the organ for the Lodge. Being an Entered Apprentice and a member of the Buddies Programme, this was a real treat.
After the Ceremonies, all of our Light Blue visitors where asked to join the procession out of the lodge with the Master and his distinguished guests. They were seated together at the Festive Board whilst enjoying plenty of camaraderie amongst the group. Further visits to each others’ Lodges were arranged between the buddies which will no doubt be the start of long term friendship.
Another enjoyable CLB visit taking initiates to Thirkill Lodge on 21st of February 2022 to watch a new brother be initiated. Congratulations to Thirkill for the wonderful evening and being our host. The club were more than happy to bring 8 visitors from the buddies scheme and 5 members of the wider CLB. The raffle of the evening made £200, which will be donated to the Festival 2023.
The Brethren of The Lodge of United Good Fellowship 809 were delighted to welcome the Provincial Grand Master and visiting members of the Cambridgeshire Light Blues to a Double Initiation Ceremony on 13th April, the Lodge’s Third Double Initiation Ceremony this season.
All of the Entered Apprentices, including those from 809 and one Visitor from Lincolnshire, were seated at the Eastern end of the Lodge, joined the Retirement Procession and were then grouped around the PGM at the Festive Board. RW Bro Bill went out of his way to engage them in conversation and provide them with context for a number of items they had witnessed thereby ensuring they had an entertaining and educational evening.
We are indebted to the PGM for giving his time and support to the CLBs – he generously fitted us into his already tight schedule of events before the Consecration the following day at Wisbech St Mary.
